Does Contentware support time zones?

Account Time Zone Setting

Each account is set to a specific time zone.  The time zone is selected during the account creation process.  To view or change the account time zone:

  • Click the "My Account" Drop down
  • Select "Account & Billing Information" link
  • Click the "Edit" link and then select the desired Preferred Time Zone from the drop down list
  • Click the save button

The primary use for Time Zones in Contentware relates to the scheduling of promotions.  If you set the account time zone to Pacific - and then have promotions scheduled for 10:00 AM, then each of those promotions will be scheduled at 10:00 AM Pacific time.

Displaying Time Zone in Promotions

You can choose to display the time zone in Contentware promotions.  On the job setup page:

  • Select the "Yes" option for Display Time Zone
  • Select the appropriate time zone from the drop down list

Time Zone is displayed either on the image overlay, or within the content itself.  The following are some examples to illustrate how the Time Zone is displayed:

The time zone displayed in the promotions is ONLY FOR DISPLAY purposes.  For example, if your account time zone is set to Pacific, and you are promoting a webinar that will take place in the Eastern time zone, you can select EST which will be shown in the promotions.

However, actual scheduled content will still be scheduled according to the ACCOUNT TIME ZONE SETTING. The ONLY possible exception is the day of the event, where promotions are scheduled 2 hours prior to the event start time.  Depending on your time zone configurations, scheduled times may reflect the campaign time zone and not the account time zone.
